The Society of St. Andrew operates a dedicated Delmarva office serving the entire peninsula, including all of Delaware. The regional branch works with farmers and packing houses to collect excess fresh produce. Locally, the rescued food is distributed directly to underserved neighborhoods, food pantries, and shelters. SoSA runs several initiatives to combat food waste and hunger. Our Gleaning Network works with Tens of thousands of volunteers to go into farm fields and orchards after commercial harvests to hand-pick edible produce that would otherwise be left to rot or plowed under.
