The Special Olympics Delaware Cycling Classic is a mid-season qualifying competition that brings together approximately 150 athletes from across the state to compete in a variety of cycling events.
Volunteers play a vital role in creating a safe, organized, and encouraging environment while helping athletes qualify for championship competition.
Volunteer opportunities may include:
Athlete check-in and registration
Course marshaling and directing athletes Start/finish line
support Timing and score recording
Awards assistance Hydration and athlete support
General event operations, setup, and cleanup
No prior cycling experience is required for most roles.
Volunteers will receive an orientation on-site and will work alongside Special Olympics Delaware staff and event leaders. Whether you're cheering on athletes, assisting with event operations, or helping keep the course running smoothly, your support helps make the Cycling Classic a successful and memorable experience for every athlete.
