The Friends of Killens Pond mission is to enjoy and protect the land within Killens Pond State Park, its management areas, and to actively participate in the Park's preservation and improvement. The Friends of Killens Pond group helps fund the summer concert series, children's summer camp scholarships, stipends for Title I school field trips, and other needs for the park. This volunteer role is vital in helping keep the line(s) moving at the water park entrance in a safe and timely manner. You will be assisting with putting wristbands on the visitors and possibly answering any questions they may have. This volunteer role is on an as needed basis; park staff will get in touch ahead of time to request help. The main time this role is needed is weekday mornings 9-11am and possibly weekends 1:45pm through 4/5pm. When signing up for this role, please indicate in the "notes" section if you are available for the weekday morning, weekend afternoon, or both shifts. Volunteers help to meet this challenge and thus make a significant difference in Killens Pond State Park’s quest to manage invasive plants. We are eager to work with like-minded people who are passionate or want to learn more about this issue. So please join us on the 3rd Saturday of each month, from 10 AM to 12 PM for a rewarding morning of volunteer work removing invasive plants!
