Newark Arts Alliance

Who We Are

Founded in 1994, the Newark Arts Alliance (NAA) is a mostly volunteer-led community arts organization dedicated to making the arts accessible, welcoming, and deeply connected to everyday community life. Supported by three part-time staff members and a passionate network of volunteers, members, and teaching artists, the NAA is powered by people from all walks of life — working professionals, parents, students, retirees, educators, and creatives of every kind. Together, we believe the arts help communities flourish by fostering connection, expression, lifelong learning, and a stronger sense of belonging.

What We Do

The Newark Arts Alliance provides enriching, accessible arts programming designed to welcome beginners, lifelong learners, families, and experienced artists alike. Through classes, exhibitions, performances, camps, outreach programs, and community events, we create opportunities for people to explore creativity, reduce isolation, build confidence, and connect with one another in meaningful ways. We also support local artists by providing spaces to teach, exhibit, perform, and grow — strengthening both the cultural life and community well-being of our region through the arts.
